Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Moments for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  Please be sure to visit everyone’s blog  to see the great projects they are sharing with you this week.  My project today features the Beautiful Moments Stamp Set and the soon-to-be-retired Sand & Sea Designer Series Paper.  We are all working with a Theme this week.  Here is my project:

And the theme this week is the Beach/Ocean:

The Beautiful Moments Stamp Set works perfectly to create a scene with the two young girls walking on the beach with their sand buckets.  The background and the paper pieced dresses and buckets feature the Sand & Sea Designer Series Paper.

Using paper from the Sand & Sea DSP collection, trim a curve in the edge of the blue panel before adhering to a sand colored panel.  Trim to size – 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″.  Use Soft Suede Ink to stamp the image of the girls on this layer.  Stamp the sea oats with Old Olive ink and the seagulls with Misty Moonlight ink.

To prepare for paper piecing, use Soft Suede ink to stamp the image of the girls a few more times – on Basic White card stock, and on Sand & Sea DSP on a panel with pink and again on a panel with yellow.  Use paper snips to cut out the complete image of the girls from the Basic White paper.  Cut one yellow dress and one yellow bucket as well as one pink dress and one pink bucket.  Use Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends to color the arms, legs and face on the Basic White image.  Use Cinnamon Cider and So Saffron Blends to color the girls’ hair.

Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the dresses and buckets to the white card stock image.  Then adhere the completed piece over the image stamped initially on the DSP.  Adhere the DSP panel to a Basic White card stock mat with Liquid Glue.  Wrap a length of Linen Thread twice around the layer and tie a bow.  Use Dimensionals to adhere the art piece to the front of a Misty Moonlight card base.  Stamp the sentiment with Misty Moonlight ink on a panel of Basic White card stock and crop with the Double Oval Punch.  Glue to a scalloped oval mat punched from a panel of Misty Moonlight card stock before adhering to the card front with Dimensionals.

For the inside, use Misty Moonlight ink to stamp the seagulls on a panel of Basic White card stock.  The seagrass is stamped multiple times with Old Olive ink.  Adhere the completed panel to the inside of the card with Liquid Glue.
