Stampin’ Up! Cactus Cuties Hello Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  Please be sure to visit everyone’s blog  to see the great projects they are sharing with you this week.  My project today features the Cactus Cuties Stamp Set and Cactus Builder Punch plus some Bloom Where You’re Planted Designer Series Paper.  We are working with a Sketch Challenge this week.  Here is my card:

And here is the sketch we’re using:

The Bloom Where You’re Planted DSP has some great neutral patterns.  This card features the panel covering the full card front plus a strip of the stacked brick design.

Adhere the DSP panel to the front of the Basic White Thick card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Use Paper Snips to trim one end of the brick pattern DSP in stair-step fashion.  Adhere to the card front with Liquid Glue.  Trim one end of the strip of Crumb Cake card stock at an angle and then adhere to the card front with Glue.  Trim one end of the Evening Evergreen 3/8″ Chevron Weave Ribbon and adhere to the card front with Mini Glue Dots.  Use Crumb Cake ink stamped off once to stamp the pot from the Cactus Cuties stamp set on the left on a panel of Basic White card stock.  Trim by hand with Paper Snips.  Stamp the pot on the right with Cinnamon Cider ink stamped off once on Basic White card stock.  Cut out with the Cactus Builder Punch.

Cut a circle from Basic White card stock with the second to largest plain circle die from the Layering Circles Dies.  Stamp the plant image from the Cactus Cuties stamp set on the left side with Soft Succulent ink stamped off once first.  Adhere the Crumb Cake pot in place on the circle with Mini Glue Dots.  Ink the tall cactus stamp on the Garden Green stamp pad, then swipe lengthwise with a sponge dauber to add some texture before stamping on a panel of Basic White card stock.  Fussy-cut the image with paper snips and adhere to the back of Cinammon Cider pot.  Adhere the plant and pot to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stamp three blooms with Pale Papaya ink on the panel of Basic White card stock.  Use the Cactus Builder Punch to cut them out.  Adhere them to the tall cactus as shown with Mini Glue Dots.  Stamp the sentiment from the Cactus Cuties stamp set with Cinnamon Cider ink on a scrap of Basic White card stock.  Hand trim with Paper Snips, adding a flag cut on the right side.  Adhere to the Cinnamon Cider pot with Liquid Glue.  Adhere the art piece circle to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Add a few Genial Gems embellishments to complete.  The inside of this card is blank – ready for a handwritten note for someone special.
