Stampin’ Up! Garden Birdhouses for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  Please be sure to visit everyone’s blog  to see the great projects they are sharing with you this week.  My project today features the Garden Birdhouses stamp set.  We are working with a Sketch Challenge this week.  Here is my card:

And here’s the Sketch we are using this week:

The Garden Birdhouses stamp set has many images that call to me to do some coloring.  So that’s exactly what I did – such fun!

Stamp the birdhouses and birds on scraps of Basic White card stock with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  Allow the ink to dry completely and then color with Stampin’ Blends markers.  The birdhouse on the front is colored with Light Night of Navy, Light Flirty Flamingo and Dark Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends.  The birds are colored with Dark Daffodil Delight.

Adhere a panel of Pattern Party Designer Series Paper to a mat of Flirty Flamingo card stock with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Then use Liquid Glue to adhere the layer to the front of a Basic Black card base.

Use a Blending Brush to add some Balmy Blue ink to the upper area of a panel of Basic White card stock.  Use Granny Apple Green ink to stamp the large branch across the panel.  Color the leaves with a Light Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends marker.  Stamp the grass across the bottom with Granny Apple Green ink.  Then use Black ink to stamp the cord to “hang” the birdhouse from the branch.

The sentiment from the Garden Birdhouses stamp set is heat embossed on a strip of Basic Black card stock with White embossing powder.  Adhere the art piece to a mat of Flirty Flamingo card stock.  Adhere the birdhouse, birds and sentiment to the art piece with Liquid Glue.  Then adhere the layer to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stamp the sentiment from the Garden Birdhouse stamp set on a panel of Basic White card stock for the inside of the card.  Adhere a birdhouse colored with Light Night of Navy, Dark Pool Party and Daffodil Delight Blends and a bird colored with Light Night of Navy and Light Flirty Flamingo Blends.  Then adhere the panel to the inside of the card.
