Stampin’ Up! Friends Are Like Seashells for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  Please be sure to visit everyone’s blog  to see the great projects they are sharing with you this week.  My project today features the Friends Are Like Seashells Stamp Set, Sand & Sea Designer Series Paper as well as the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.  We are all working with a Sketch Challenge this week.  Here is my project:

And here is the sketch we are using:

Like most Designer Series Paper collections from Stampin’ Up!, the Sand & Sea DSP has some sheets that feature images and some with textured or graphic designs.   Within each collection, the sheets have coordinating colors.  It’s so fun to combine them!

Adhere two panels of Sand & Sea Designer Series Paper to a panel of Basic White Thick card stock.  Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the panels offset and at an angle, as shown.  Wrap a length of Linen Thread around the art piece three times, tie a knot near the left edge and then tie a bow.

Stamp the sentiment from the Friends Are Like Seashells stamp set with Misty Moonlight ink on a panel of Basic White card stock.  Ink the sand image stamp with Sahara Sand ink and stamp off on a piece of scrap paper each time, before adding the sand randomly over and around the sentiment.  Use a die from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies to crop the sentiment.

To make the mat, turn the die over and use a pencil to trace around the outside edge on a panel of Misty Moonlight card stock.  Use Paper Snips to cut along the pencil line.  Adhere the sentiment to the mat with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Adhere the sentiment to the art piece with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then adhere the layer to the card front with Dimensionals, as well.  Add a few Opal Rounds on the sentiment and next to it for a bit of sparkle and shine.

Stamp the seashell image on the inside panel of Basic White card stock with Sahara Sand ink, stamping off on a scrap first.  Use Misty Moonlight ink to add the sentiment over the top of the shell image.  Add the sand image as desired, along the bottom and near the sentiment using Sahara Sand ink stamped off once each time.  Quick & easy and ready to go in the mail!
