Stampin’ Up! Lights Aglow Double Twisted Ribbon Technique Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  Please be sure to visit everyone’s blog  to see the great projects they are sharing with you this week.  My project today features the Leaves of Holly Stamp Setthe Holly Berry Dies and the Lights Aglow Designer Series Paper.  We are working with a Sketch Challenge this week.  Here is my card:

And here is the Sketch we are using:I found the Double Twisted Ribbon Technique on Pinterest and had lots of fun creating my panel for the card front.  There are multiple approaches and multiple videos to watch for this technique, so search them out and pick the one you prefer.  All the measurements used on this card can be found at the end of this post.

Use a panel of Basic White card stock for the base, scored from top to bottom at 1″ intervals.  Using two different colors of DSP makes this a Double Twisted Ribbon. The darker strips of DSP are adhered first, since they are in the background and also the “reverse side” of the ribbon.  The lighter more decorative strips are on top.  You can adhere the strips with Stampin’ Seal Tape or Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Use paper snips to trim the ends of the strips that extend beyond the base layer along the left side and right side.  Then adhere the panel to a Cherry Cobbler card stock mat with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The sentiment is heat embossed with Gold embossing powder on Basic White card stock.  Cut it out with the label die from the Holly Berry Dies.  Place the label die upside down on a panel of Cherry Cobbler card stock and trace around it with a pencil.  Cut along the line with Paper Snips and you have created a mat for the sentiment label.  Adhere the label to the mat with Glue and then adhere to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the inside, adhere strips of DSP to a panel of Basic White card stock before adhering to a Cherry Cobbler mat.  Then adhere the layer to the inside of the card base with Liquid Glue.

Here’s another version of the same card – the difference is the sentiment is embossed in Gold on Cherry Cobbler card stock and the hand cut mat is Gold Foil.

Give this technique a try, and have some fun with it!
