Stampin’ Up! Speedy Recovery for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  Please be sure to visit everyone’s blog  to see the great projects they are sharing with you this week.  My project today features the Speedy Recovery Stamp Set, the Stylish Shapes Dies, the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder and the Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper.  We are working with a Color Challenge this week.  Here is my card:

And these are the colors we are using:

I chose Real Red as my added color. Red, black and white are pretty popular around here this time of year… Go Dawgs!  The Georgia Bulldogs football team from UGA is making us proud!

To begin, use the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder to add texture to a panel of Basic White card stock, which is trimmed down to 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ after embossing.  Use Stampin’ Seal Tape to adhere it to a panel of Basic Black card stock with the debossed side facing up.  Then adhere the layer to the front of a Real Red card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Color the flowers on a panel of Perfectly Penciled DSP using a Dark Real Red Stampin’ Blends marker.  Use Liquid Glue to adhere the two panels of Perfectly Penciled DSP to the corresponding Basic Black card stock mats.  Then adhere them to the card front with Liquid Glue.  Stamp the sentiment from the Speedy Recovery stamp set with Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a panel of Basic White card stock.

Crop with the third to largest square die from the Stylish Shapes Dies, allowing space for the bow below the sentiment.  Then adhere to a square of Real Red card stock.  Adhere the sentiment layer to the card front with Liquid Glue.  Tie a bow with the Black & White 1/4″ Gingham Ribbon and adhere to the sentiment layer with a Mini Glue Dot.  Add a few Matte Black Dots to complete.

Use Paper Snips to fussy cut a flower and a few leaves from a panel of Perfectly Penciled DSP.  Add color to the flower with a Dark Real Red Stampin’ Blends marker before adhering it in the lower right corner of a panel of Basic White card stock.  Adhere the white panel to a Basic Black card stock mat before adhering it to the inside of the card.
