Stampin’ Up! Sending Hugs to You

Welcome!  Thanks for stopping by.  My project today features the Sending Hugs Stamp Set and Layering Hugs Dies, also available as  the Sending Hugs Bundle – at a 10% discount.  I wanted to share a second card I made for the color challenge earlier this week – using the same colors, but with an entirely different look.

These are the colors from the challenge (pick at least 3):All five of the colors shown above are added to the beautiful floral line drawing from the Sending Hugs stamp set using Blender Pens and ink pads.  Blender pens are like having a marker for every color of ink pad, and can look somewhat like watercolor painting.

Stamp the floral image on a panel of Basic White card stock with StazOn Jet Black ink. Using a Blender Pen, add the following colors to the image: Bumblebee Ink for the large flowers and Merry Merlot for the smaller ones.  The berries are Cinnamon Cider and the small floral sprays are Misty Moonlight.  Use Old Olive for the leaves.

Crop the art piece with the second to largest die from the Stitched Rectangles Dies.  Use the word die from the Layering Hugs Dies to cut the letters from Merry Merlot card stock.  Adhere the cut letters over the outlines with a small amount of Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Cut a panel of Old Olive card stock using the largest die from the Stitched Rectangle Dies.  Adhere the art piece to the Old Olive panel using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the layer to the front of a Merry Merlot card base.

Use Merry Merlot ink to stamp the sentiment from the Sending Hugs stamp set on a scrap of Basic White card stock.  Use the small label die from the Layering Hugs Dies to crop it.  Adhere to the card front with a Dimensional cut down to a narrow strip.  Tie a bow with 1/4″ Gold Shimmer Ribbon and adhere to the card front with a Mini Glue Dot.  Add some Genial Gems to complete.

Stamp the single stem flower image from the Sending Hugs Stamp Set in the upper left and lower right corners of a panel of Basic White card stock with StazOn Jet Black ink.  Add Merry Merlot to the flowers and Old Olive to the leaves with a Blender Pen.  Using Liquid Glue, adhere to a panel of Old Olive card stock before adhering to the inside of the card base.

I’m a big blue lover but that Merry Merlot really pops and gives it a different feel. I love them both. Still have that stamp on my wish list! TFS. Happy Fourth!
