Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern Encouragement Card for Simply Stampin’ Sunday

Welcome to Simply Stampin’ Sunday – my post of Clean And Simple projects that can be made in minutes using Stampin’ Up! products.  This week’s card features the Forever Fern Stamp Set and the Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper with a bow tied with Old Olive/Pretty Peacock 3/8″ Reversible Ribbon.

My card design is based on the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches FMS448

Pretty Peacock card stock provides the perfect base for the Forever Fern Designer Series Paper.  I love the the way Stampin’ Up! patterned paper, card stock, ink and ribbon colors coordinate.  So easy to match everything up!

Assemble the sentiment strip first – longer than needed – adhere to the DSP panel with the ends extending beyond the side of the patterned paper panel, then trim off the excess.  Always trim from the back side – it’s much easier to see where to cut.

Add a shimmery Pretty Peacock bow and a sweet Gold Glitter Enamel Dot to accent the sentiment.

A simple strip of patterned paper added to the inside panel completes the look.

Here are the Simple Steps to make this card:

  1. Cut a panel of Pretty Peacock card stock to 4-1/4″ x 11″, score at 5-1/2″ and fold for the card base.
  2. Stamp the sentiment from the Forever Fern Stamp Set in Pretty Peacock ink on a 5/8″ x 5-1/2″ strip of Whisper White card stock.
  3. Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the stamped strip to a 7/8″ x 5-1/2″ strip of Pretty Peacock card stock.
  4. Cut a 4″ x 5-1/4″ panel of Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper.
  5. Adhere the layered strip diagonally across the panel of the Designer Series Paper with Liquid Glue – the ends will extend beyond the sides of the panel.
  6. Use Paper Snips to trim the ends of the strip that extend beyond the sides of the panel.  Always trim from the back side, it’s much easier to see where to cut.
  7. Adhere the completed panel to the front of the card base with Liquid Glue.
  8. Tie a bow with Old Olive/Pretty Peacock 3/8″ Reversible Ribbon (with the Pretty Peacock side showing) and adhere to the strip with Mini Glue Dots.
  9. Add a medium size Gold Glitter Enamel Dot to the strip to accent the sentiment.
  10. Adhere a 3/4″ x 5-1/4″ strip of Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper along the left side of a 4″ x 5-1/4″ panel of Whisper White card stock with Glue.
  11. Then use Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the card base.
