Stampin’ Up! Whale Done My Love for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  Please be sure to visit everyone’s blog  to see the great projects they are sharing with you this week.  My project today features the new Whale Done Stamp Set, the Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper, the Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch and the Stitched Rectangles Dies.  We are all working with a sketch challenge this week – here’s my project:

And here is the sketch we are using:

The Whale of a Time Suite is one of my favorites in the 2020-21 Annual Catalog.  The Designer Series Paper has bright colors and beautifully illustrated underwater scenes of aquatic life.  Plus, with twelve 2-sided designs, there are so many to choose from!  Decisions, decisions, right?!?

Adhere a panel of the Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper to cover the front of the Balmy Blue card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Use Glue to adhere another panel of the Designer Series Paper to a mat of Balmy Blue card stock and adhere the layer to the card front, as well.

Use the Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch to cut three panels of the turtles scene from the Designer Series Paper for the art piece.  I punched three more panels from Whisper White Thick card stock and adhered them to the backs of the turtle panels to add weight before adhering them to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Use Pretty Peacock ink to stamp the sentiment from the Whale Done Stamp Set on a panel of Whisper White Thick card stock.  Crop the sentiment with a die from the Stitched Rectangles Dies.  Adhere the sentiment across the front panels with Liquid Glue.  Embellish with some sequins from the Whale of a Time Sequins pack.  There are even some shaped like sea shells!

Punch one more rectangle of the turtles swimming with the Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch.  Then insert the piece back into the punch, viewing on the back side and punch again to trim to one square and a smaller rectangle.  Adhere them to a panel of Whisper White card stock with Liquid Glue.  Ink the turtle from the Whale Done stamp set on a Balmy Blue ink pad, then add some Pretty Peacock ink to the stamp with a Sponge Dauber before stamping on the White panel.  Add a heart – from the same stamp set – inked with Calypso Coral ink.  Adhere the panel to the inside of the card with some Glue and you’re all set.
