Stampin’ Up! Festive Foliage Joy for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  Please be sure to visit everyone’s blog  to see the great projects they are sharing with you this week.  My project today features the Festive Foliage Stamp Set and the Playful Alphabet Dies.  I also used the Merriest Moments Stamp Set and Beautiful Trees Dies.  We are all working with a Theme Challenge this week.  Here is my project:

Our theme this week is Christmas:

Christmas will be here before I know it, so I need to get busy making cards!  How about you?  I do make some that go together quickly, but also like to take some time to do some coloring.  The Festive Foliage Stamp Set has been calling out to me to be colored, so I stamped the image on Basic White card stock with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and got busy.

I had fun with it using Stampin’ Blends in the following colors: Granny Apple Green, Soft Succulent, Shaded Spruce, Old Olive, Evening Evergreen and Real Red.  After it was colored, I trimmed it down to the size I wanted and used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere it to a panel of Gold Metallic Specialty Paper.

I used the Playful Alphabet Dies to cut the letters from Real Red card stock.  The letters are glued to a panel of Basic White card stock cut with a Stitched Rectangle Die.  Cut a strip of Gold Metallic Specialty Paper and use Paper Snips to flag the ends.  Adhere the gold strip to the front panel with Liquid Glue.  Wrap a length of Gold cord from the Simply Elegant Trim pack across the panel and secure the ends on the back with tape.  Adhere the sentiment over the cord using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Tie a triple loop bow and secure with a few Mini Glue Dots.  Add a couple birds die cut from Real Red card stock using a die from the Beautiful Trees Dies.  Embellish with a few Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels.  To complete, adhere the panel to the Real Red card base using Dimensionals.

Use Real Red ink to stamp the sentiment from the Merriest Moments Stamp Set on a panel of Basic White card stock.  Stamp the branch – also from Merriest Moments Stamp Set – with Evening Evergreen ink and adhere another small die cut bird.  The inside panel is then adhered with Glue to the inside of the card.
