Stampin’ Up! Sending Hugs for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  Please be sure to visit everyone’s blog  to see the great projects they are sharing with you this week.  My project today features the new Sending Hugs Stamp Set and Layering Hugs Dies, also available as  the Sending Hugs Bundle – at a 10% discount.  We are all working with a Color Challenge this week.  Here is my project:

And these are the colors we’re using (pick at least 3):

All five of the colors shown above are added to the beautiful floral line drawing from the Sending Hugs stamp set using Blender Pens and ink pads.  Blender pens are like having a marker for every color of ink pad, and can look somewhat like watercolor painting.

Stamp the floral image on a panel of Basic White card stock with StazOn Jet Black ink. Using a Blender Pen, add the following colors to the image: Bumblebee Ink for the large flowers and Misty Moonlight for the smaller ones.  The berries are Merry Merlot and the small branches are Cinnamon Cider.  Use Old Olive for the leaves.

Crop the art piece with the second to largest die from the Stitched Rectangles Dies.  Use the word die from the Layering Hugs Dies to cut the letters from Misty Moonlight card stock.  Adhere the cut letters over the outlines with a small amount of Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Cut a panel of Bumblebee card stock using the largest die from the Stitched Rectangle Dies.  Add texture to the Bumblebee panel with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder.  Then adhere the art piece to the textured panel using Stampin’ Seal Tape.  Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the layer to the front of a Misty Moonlight card base.

Use StazOn Jet Black ink to stamp the sentiment from the Sending Hugs stamp set on a scrap of Bumblebee card stock.  Use the small label die from the Layering Hugs Dies to crop it.  Adhere to the card front with a Dimensional cut down to a narrow strip.  Tie a triple loop bow with the twine from the Flowers For Every Season Ribbon combo pack and adhere to the card front with a Mini Glue Dot.  Add some Rhinestone Basic Jewels to complete.

Stamp the single stem flower image in the four corners of a panel of Basic White card stock with StazOn Jet Black ink.  Add Misty Moonlight to the flowers and Old Olive to the leaves with a Blender Pen.  Using Liquid Glue, adhere to a panel of Bumblebee card stock before adhering to the inside of the card base.
