Stampin’ Up! Gather Together Plaid Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  Please be sure to visit everyone’s blog  to see the great projects they are sharing with you this week.  My project today features the Gather Together Bundle, the Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper and the Stitched Rectangle Dies.  We are all working with a Sketch Challenge this week.  Here’s my card:

And here is the sketch we are using:

I would not have thought about combining the rich color of Pretty Peacock with the colors Cajun Craze and Pumpkin Pie, but was inspired to give it a try when I saw a card made by a team mate, Karen Ilsley.  What do you think?  The DSP is from the Plaid Tidings collection and has the same three colors in it, as well.  Perfect!

To begin, use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere a panel of Plaid Tidings DSP to the front of a Pretty Peacock card base.  Cut a panel of Cajun Craze card stock and use the Banner Triple Punch to crop one end.  Adhere the banner to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Use a Stitched Rectangle Die to cut a panel of Whisper White Thick card stock – final dimensions are listed at the end of this post.  Use Pretty Peacock ink to stamp the sentiment from the Gather Together Stamp Set at the bottom of the panel.  The wheat image is stamped with Pretty Peacock ink multiple times before re-inking in the upper section of the panel.

Stamp the pumpkins from the Gather Together Stamp Set with Cajun Craze ink on Whisper White Thick card stock.  Color them with Pumpkin Pie Light and Dark Stampin’ Blends markers.  Use Old Olive Light and Dark Blends to color the stems.  The large pumpkin is adhered to the panel with Glue.  The smaller two pumpkins are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then adhere the completed art piece to the card front with Dimensionals.  Embellish with a few colored rhinestones from the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels collection .

The leaf is inked with Pretty Peacock ink and stamped off three times before stamping on the inside panel of Whisper White card stock.  Adhere a strip of Plaid Tidings DSP along the bottom edge with Liquid Glue and stamp the sentiment in Cajun Craze ink.  Then adhere the panel to the inside of the card with Glue.  All done!
