Stampin’ Up! Whale of a Time Turtles for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  Please be sure to visit everyone’s blog  to see the great projects they are sharing with you this week.  My project today features the Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper and the Queen Anne’s Lace Stamp Set.  We are all working with a color challenge this week – here’s my project:

And here are the colors we are using:

The Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper has 4 each of 12 double-sided designs of 6″x 6″ paper.  That’s 24 different designs in one pack – so many options to choose from equals so much fun!  I chose to fussy-cut some turtles from one design and add them to the underwater scene from another design.

Choose a scene from the Designer Series Paper collection and trim to size before adhering it to a panel of Just Jade card stock with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Use Paper Snips to fussy-cut a couple sea turtles and adhere them to the scene with Liquid Glue.  Then adhere the completed layer to the front of a Pacific Point card base with Glue.

Use Pacific Point ink to stamp the sentiment from the Queen Anne’s Lace stamp set on a panel of Whisper White Thick card stock.  Crop with the banner die from the Tasteful Labels Dies set.  Adhere the sentiment to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Use some Liquid Glue to adhere a few clear gems from the Flowers For Every Season Gems to the card front – they look like bubbles!

For the inside of the card, stamp the sentiment from the Queen Anne’s Lace stamp set with Pacific Point ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere a strip of the Designer Series Paper along the left edge as well as another fussy-cut turtle image to the panel.  Then adhere the panel to a mat of Just Jade card stock before adding it to the inside of the card with Glue.

I love how you fussy cut the turtles to add to the underwater scene. I like using those sentiments too. Good use of that beautiful paper (esp since I didn’t buy the stamp set!) TFS.

  5. Love it!! Such a great way to use that paper, sweet turtles! Now I need to send you my pack so that you can cut them all out for me. 😉

  6. Wow – I love this card! Perfect design to fussy cut those sweet turtles and have them cavorting about underwater! 🙂

  7. It took me a second to realize you fussy cut those turtles – they’re perfectly cut! Beautiful use of the DSP and love the sentiment on the stitched banner.

What an awesome card Sue 🙂 I think we all had the same idea with the turtles. Your fussy cutting is so perfect they look like they belong right there on the DSP.
