Stampin’ Up! Ornate Thanks Tropical Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  Please be sure to visit everyone’s blog  to see the great projects they are sharing with you this week.  My project today features a sentiment from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set and the Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper.  We are all working with a sketch challenge this week – here’s my project:

And here is the sketch we are using:

My card cuts are based on some that Sharon Burkert has been showing on her blog – so special yet simple to follow and they really show off the pretty papers.  The Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper and Braided Burlap Trim are retiring, so if you want some of your own, hurry and get them before they’re gone!

To begin, use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere a panel of Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper to the Mossy Meadow card base.  Cut a second panel of Tropical Oasis DSP into 1″ strips and adhere to a panel of Mossy Meadow card stock using Liquid Glue.  Then use Glue to adhere the completed layer to the card front.

Use Mossy Meadow ink to stamp the sentiment from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set on a strip of Whisper White card stock.  Adhere the sentiment to a strip of Mossy Meadow card stock.  Use a thin line of Multipurpose Liquid Glue along the bottom edge on the back side of the sentiment strip to adhere a 3-3/8″ length of Braided Burlap Trim.  Then adhere the completed sentiment strip to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Use Paper Snips to fussy-cut a floral image from the Tropical Oasis DSP and adhere to the bottom right corner of  panel of Whisper White card stock with Liquid Glue.  Use Mossy Meadow ink to stamp the sentiment from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set along the upper right edge of the panel.  Then adhere the panel to the inside of the card with Liquid Glue.  This card is quick and easy to make, but the details make it special.  Share it, and make someone’s day!
