Stampin’ Up! Positive Thoughts for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  Please be sure to visit everyone’s blog  to see the great projects they are sharing with you for this challenge.  My project today features the new Nature’s Thoughts Dies with a sentiment and images from the Positive Thoughts Stamp Set.  We are all working with a sketch challenge this week – here’s my project:

And here is the sketch we are all using:

To begin, use the Subtle embossing folder to add texture to a panel of Old Olive card stock. Then trim it down to square it up.  Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere it to a panel of Whisper White card stock.  Then use Glue to adhere the layer to the front of a Gray Granite card base.

Use Pear Pizzazz ink to stamp the fern image a number of times on a panel of Whisper White Thick card stock.  Stamp two or three times before re-inking.  Then use the rectangle die from the Nature’s Thoughts Die Set to trim the panel to size.  Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the die cut art piece to the card front.  Use Old Olive ink to stamp the sentiment from the Positive Thought stamp set on a panel of Gray Granite card stock.  Then crop the sentiment with a die from the Stitched Rectangles Dies.

Adhere the sentiment to the art piece with Liquid Glue and add a Dimensional under the end extending over the base.  The flower is stamped with Rococo Rose ink on Whisper White thick card stock.  The butterfly is inked using sponge daubers – first all over with Seaside Spray and then with Gray Granite only in the center – and stamped on Whisper White Thick card stock.  (Don’t clean the stamp just yet).

Die cut the flower and butterfly with the coordinating dies from the Nature’s Thoughts Dies.  Shape the butterfly’s wings a bit using a bone folder, apply Glue to the body only and adhere it to the art piece.  Apply Glue to the center of the flower and adhere.  Die cut leaves from Old Olive card stock with dies from the Nature’s Thoughts Dies.  Slide them under the edges of the flower and adhere with Glue.

Stamp the fern image with Pear Pizzazz ink on the inside panel of Whisper White card stock – stamping three times without re-inking.  Use your breath to moisten the ink remaining on the butterfly and stamp it on the inside panel, as well.  Adhere the panel to the inside of the card with Liquid Glue.
