Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  Please be sure to visit everyone’s blog  to see the great projects they are sharing with you for this challenge.  My project today features the new Poppy Moments Dies with a sentiment from the Forever Blossoms Stamp Set and an image from the Honey Bee Stamp Set.  We are all working with a color challenge this week – here’s my project:

Begin by stamping the sentiment from Forever Blossoms on a panel of Whisper White card stock with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  Adhere the stamped panel to the front of a Basic Black card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Then adhere a purchased tear-off calendar to a mat of Basic Black card stock.  Use Liquid Glue to adhere it to the card front, as well.  I struggled to capture the Gold Foil in my photographs, so please forgive my glaring shine in some pictures and lack of shine in others.  I couldn’t seem to find a happy medium.

The poppies are die cut from Gold Foil Sheets and Basic Black card stock using the Poppy Moments Dies.  The leaves are cut from Old Olive and Mossy Meadow card stock using the Poppy Moments Dies, as well.  The cute bee is a stamp from the Honey Bee Stamp Set, cut out with a die from the Detailed Bee Dies.  Color the stripes with a marker and add some Wink of Stella to his wings.  I used Liquid Glue to assemble the flowers and leaves and adhere them to the front.  The large Poppy and little bee are adhered to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, to add some depth.  Add a Gold Faceted Gem to the center of the large Poppy for a little extra sparkle.

Use the Simply Scored Tool to score a 4″ x 5-1/4″ Basic Black card stock at 1″, 2″ and 3″.  Fold it accordion style and position it like the letter “M”.  Adhere it to the inside of the card along the bottom edges of the front and back with Liquid Glue to maintain the standing open position.

This calendar will be gifted to my boss, as she is a big fan of the New Orleans Saints football team – their colors are black and gold.  I hope she’ll enjoy it.
