Stampin’ Up! Paper Purse and Notecards for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop

Welcome to Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop!  This month our theme is “Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays”.  My project features the Most Wonderful Time Product Medley.  I used the Most Wonderful Time Stamps, Most Wonderful Time Designer Series Paper, Adhesive-backed Gold Faceted Stars and assorted Stickers to make a Paper Purse for gift-giving this Holiday Season.  We have a great group of participants in our hop this month.  Please take time to stop by to visit each blog to see what the Inkin’ Krew Team members are sharing with you today.

There are quite a few examples of Paper Purses on the internet now.  I made some a few years back, but don’t remember where I first saw them.  To make best use of Designer Series Paper stacks, I tweaked the measurements for this Purse to use a 6″x 6″ sheet cut in half for the body and added some contrasting strips along the top and bottom.  You can also trim it with card stock strips.  All measurements are listed at the bottom of this post.

Cut a panel of card stock for the base and score at 1/2″ on all 4 sides.  Fold along the score lines.  Clip along one score line at each corner, add Tear & Tape and adhere flaps to create the base – it looks like a little tray.

Use Tear & Tape to add 1/2″ DSP strips along the 6″ edges of the 3″ x 6″ panels of DSP.  Then apply Tear & Tape along the bottom edge of each panel on the inside or back side.  Next apply Tear & Tape up the 3″ sides of panel #1 on the front side or outside and on panel #2 on the back side or inside.  Adhere panel #1 to the base with the bottom edge of the DSP panel even with the bottom of the base, centered so the panel wraps around the sides of the base evenly on each side.   Then peel the backing off the tape on the sides.  Adhere panel #2 to the base using the same method as panel #1, removing the backing from the sides as well as the bottom.  The DSP will overlap on each side and the Tape will secure it.

The handles are made with 1″ wide strips scored at 1/2″ along the length – avoiding 1″ at each end of the strips.  Use the corner rounder from the Detailed Trio Punch if you want and add hand drawn stitches along all the edges with the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker.  Fold the handle along the score line and add Tear & Tape along the length starting and stopping 1″ from each end.  Use Tear & Tape to adhere the handles to the purse.  Embellish with Adhesive Backed Stars and add a tag made with the Tiny Keepsakes Bundle and tied on with twine from the Tags & More Accessory Kit.

The Whisper White note cards have a strip of Most Wonderful Time DSP adhered across the front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  The sentiment from the Most Wonderful Time Stamp set is stamped with Real Red ink on Whisper White card stock and cut out with the 1-1/2″ Circle Punch.  Adhere it to a scalloped circle cut from a Gold Foil Sheet with the Layering Circles Dies before adhering to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
