Stampin’ Up! Framed Bloom & Grow Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  Please be sure to visit everyone’s blog to see the great projects they are sharing with you.  My card features the new Bloom & Grow Stamp Set, the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper and the Stitched Rectangles Dies.  We are all working with a sketch challenge this week.  Here’s my card:

And here is the sketch we are using this week:

If you love to color as much as I love to color, you need to add the Bloom & Grow Stamp Set to your collection.  Just saying.

To begin, center a length of Granny Apple Green Textured Weave Ribbon across the front of a panel of Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper, wrapping the ends to the back and securing with tape.Use the largest and third largest dies from the Stitched Rectangle die set to cut a frame from Whisper White Thick card stock.  I cut with both dies at the same time, carefully checking the spacing and securing them with washi tape before using the die cutting machine.  Adhere the frame over the DSP panel with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Then use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the completed layer to the front of the Balmy Blue card base.

Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the floral image from the Bloom & Grow stamp set on a panel of Whisper White Thick card stock.  Center the image inside the third size up Stitched Rectangle Die.  Use the fourth size up Stitched Rectangle Die as well, check the spacing around all sides and secure both dies in a couple spots with some washi tape before using a die cutting machine to cut both the image and medium size frame at the same time.

I had fun coloring the floral image with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  First I used Light Balmy Blue to color the background and tried to give it a soft water-colored look.  The flower on the right is colored with Light Highland Heather and Dark Highland Heather, with a few highlights of Dark Balmy Blue.  The flower in the center is colored with Light Pineapple Punch, Dark Pineapple Punch, Dark Daffodil Delight and a center of Dark Flirty Flamingo.  The flower on the left is colored with Light Flirty Flamingo, Dark Flirty Flamingo and highlights of Dark Pineapple Punch.  The leaves are colored with Light Granny Apple Green and Dark Granny Apple Green.

Cut a second rectangle of Whisper White Thick card stock using the fourth size up frame to serve as a base.  Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the medium frame and colored artpiece to this base and then adhere it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Tie a small bow with the Granny Apple Green Textured Weave Ribbon and adhere it to the card front with a few glue dots. Add a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the artpiece and it’s done.

Cut a second rectangle of Whisper White Thick card stock with the largest Stitched Rectangle die for the panel inside the card.  Stamp the sentiment and leaves from the Bloom & Grow stamp set with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Color the leaves with Light Granny Apple Green and Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends.  Adhere the panel to the inside of the card with Liquid Glue.
