Stampin’ Up! Magnolia Lane Suite Sneak Peek with the Inky Fingers Krew

We had our Inky Fingers Krew Team Meeting today.  What fun!  You can tell from the looks of the table that we were a busy Krew.  A couple of team members left before I thought to take a picture, but here we are in my studio – showing the fruits of our labor:

If you are interested in belonging to an active group, let me know – we’d love to have you join us!  Today we made bookmarks with the new 2019-2021 In-Colors.  We also made bags from retiring Designer Series Paper following the instructions on Mary Deatherage’s You Tube Video HERE.  You can see a few of the bags on the table, if you look closely.

Our final project was a 3-D Framed Art Piece using the soon-to-be-released Magnolia Lane Suite.  LOVE IT!  It will be available for order on June 3rd.  Check them out – they are all made with the same materials, but each one is a little different, as you can see.

The items from the Magnolia Lane Suite we used today are the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp set, the Magnolia Memory Dies and the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper – all items I was able to preorder as a demonstrator.  You can possibly purchase them as part of your Starter Kit if you sign up on or after May 2nd.  Contact me for more information if you’re interested.

To begin, use the Magnolia Memory Dies to cut two small and one large triple petal shape from Whisper White card stock.   Use the new (available June 3rd) Hot Air Balloon Punch to punch five balloons from Whisper White card stock.

Shape the petals using your fingers or a Bone Folder to add dimension and make them look realistic and natural.  Use a Sponge Dauber with Pineapple Punch ink to add a bit of color to the center of the bloom.  Assemble the layers by applying Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the center of each layer as you stack them.  Adhere the large petals cut with the Hot Air Balloon Punch one at a time to the back of the flower.

Cut one stamen in each size from Daffodil Delight card stock using the Magnolia Memory Dies.  Add a bit of color to the smaller one with a Bronze Stampin’ Blends marker.  Adhere them both to the center of the bloom with Liquid Glue and finish with a large Gold Faceted Gem.  Stamp the large magnolia bloom from the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set with Mossy Meadow ink on Old Olive card stock.  You can also stamp in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Whisper White card stock and color with Stampin’ Blends markers.  Use your Paper Snips Scissors to fussy-cut the leaves.  You may want to stamp the image more than once, depending on how many leaves you want to use.

Cut a panel of Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper to fit the purchased frame – in this case, 4″ x 6″.  Take off the back panel of the frame and remove the glass.  Insert the DSP panel background and reassemble the frame.  Insert a twig in the space between the frame and the back, securing in place with Glue Dots.  Adhere the bloom and leaves to the twig and/or DSP panel using Liquid Glue, Glue Dots or Stampin’ Dimensionals, whichever works best.   Each of these creations is unique, just as they are in nature.
