Stampin’ Up! Animal Outing for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  Please be sure to visit everyone’s blog to see the great projects they are sharing with you.  My card features the Animal Outing stamp set and Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper.  We are all working with a sketch challenge this week.  Here’s my card:

And here is the sketch we are using:

The Animal Expedition DSP makes me smile – the critters are so cute!   I decided to go with a masculine card – adding a Wood Textures DSP rectangular frame around the sentiment and trimming it with the Leaf Ribbon.  Looks like a jungle vine to me.  What do you think?

Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere a panel of Designer Series Paper to a panel of Lemon Lime Twist card stock which is then adhered to the front of the Shaded Spruce card base.  Use Shaded Spruce ink to stamp the sentiment on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  Determine the size of the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies dies to use for the frame and cut the sentiment panel out with the larger one.

Next cut of the frame from the Wood Textures DSP.  Adhere the frame to the sentiment panel with Liquid Glue.  Then adhere the completed piece to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Adhere the Leaf Ribbon to the frame by applying a small amount of Glue at the base of each leaf.  I used two lengths of ribbon – one up the left side and one up the right side and overlapped them slightly at the top center and bottom center.

Fussy-cut the branch with the two frogs making eyes at each other and adhere in the top left corner of a panel of Whisper White card stock.  Stamp the inside sentiment in the lower right corner of the panel with Shaded Spruce ink.  Or stamp it on a scrap, fussy-cut it and glue it in place, as I did.  The Whisper White panel is adhered to a panel of Lemon Lime Twist before it’s adhered to the inside of the card.  Fun!
