Stampin’ Up! Sweetest Birthday for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  My card today is a special one, because it’s for Amy K and today is her birthday!  She’s at the top of the list below – be sure you stop by her blog and wish her a Happy Birthday, OK?  And please be sure to visit everyone’s blog to see the great projects they are sharing with you today.  We are all working with a sketch challenge this week.  Here’s my card:

And here is the sketch we are using:

I’m sure you’ll agree the How Sweet It Is Suite is perfect for a card to wish someone the Sweetest Birthday.  (Yes, that’s a lot of Sweets!)

Use the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies to cut two plain ovals from Highland Heather card stock, one plain oval from Coastal Cabana card stock and Whisper White scalloped oval mats for each one.  Cut the jars of sweets from the How Sweet It Is DSP with the coordinating Jars of Sweets Framelits Dies and adhere to the oval panels with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Adhere a panel of How Sweet It Is DSP to a Whisper White card stock mat with Liquid Glue.  Use Glue to adhere the jar accents on the left side and right side of the front panel.  Wrap a length of Coastal Cabana/Granny Apple Green 3/8″ Ribbon across the front of the panel and adhere the ends to the back side with tape.  Wrap a length of Whisper White Bakers Twine over the top of the ribbon, around the panel and tie a bow on the front side.  Use Dimensionals to adhere the front panel to the Coastal Cabana card base.

The center oval is adhered to the front panel with Dimensionals, over the top of the ribbon accent.  Use White Stampin’ Emboss powder to add the sentiment from the Sweetest Thing stamp set to a panel of Highland Heather card stock.  Cut a frame for the sentiment from Coastal Cabana card stock using the Bunch of Banners Dies.  Adhere the frame to the sentiment panel and then use Paper Snips to trim around it.  Adhere the banner with a Dimensional at each end and Glue in the center over the oval.  Embellish with a couple of Glimmer Enamel Dots to complete.

Use Coastal Cabana ink to add the sentiment to a Whisper White card stock panel before adhering it to a mat of Highland Heather card stock.  Use Glue to adhere the layer to the inside of the card.  Adhere a jar of sweets cut from the DSP to the inside panel with Glue, as well.

Embellish the front of the envelope with a die cut jar of sweets and fussy-cut candies for a little more sweetness.   Yes, How Sweet It Is, indeed!  Happy Birthday, Amy!
