Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! Please be sure to visit everyone’s blog to see the great projects they are sharing with you today. My card features the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper, the Golden Afternoon stamp set and the Layered Ovals Framelits Dies. We are all working with a sketch challenge this week. Here’s my card:
And here is the sketch we are using:
I was inspired by Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge #310
Use the FREE-with-purchase Botanical Butterfly paper from the first release of Sale-A-Bration products as the base on this pretty spring card. Color only the background with a Pool Party Dark Stampin’ Blends marker, leaving the flowers and butterflies black and white. Love this look. This paper is back in stock while supplies last, so get yours quick!
The DSP panel is adhered to a Petal Pink card stock mat before being adhered to the Basic Black card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Cut a strip of Silver Foil paper and trim the ends with the Triple Banner Punch before adhering to the card base. Cut a strip of the striped design of the Botanical Butterfly DSP, trim the ends at an angle and adhere over the foil banner with Liquid Glue, as shown.
Use Jet Black StazOn ink to stamp the sentiment from the Golden Afternoon stamp set on a panel of Whisper White card stock. Cut out with the Layering Ovals Die set and mat on Coastal Cabana card stock oval cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits dies.
Add a number of Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back side of the sentiment and adhere loops of Silver Metallic Thread before mounting the sentiment to the card front. Color a butterfly in the Butterfly Botanical DSP with a Pool Party Dark Blends marker and a Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends marker. Fussy-cut and adhere to the sentiment panel. Add some Clear Wink of Stella to the the butterfly body and the edges of the wings. Add a Petal Pink Frosted Flower topped with a small Rhinestone to embellish. There are also three Rhinestones on the top right corner of the card, but they are not showing up in the photos.
Use Jet Black StazOn ink to stamp a butterfly from the Butterfly Gala stamp set in the bottom right corner of a panel of Whisper White card stock. Adhere to a Petal Pink card stock mat before adhering to the inside of the card with Liquid Glue. Ready to send on it’s way to make someone’s day!

Beautiful! Your colors are so pretty against that black-toned DSP!
Thanks Mary. I’m glad you like it.
So pretty! The subtle coloring on the background showcases the beautiful flowers and butterflies perfectly. Love that sentiment too! 🙂
Thanks, Amy. I had fun creating this one.
Oh, my gosh…that was a lot of staying in the lines on the background. What a great idea! I love your card. Because coloring is my passion, I’ll be CASEing!
Yes, Karen, you should color this paper. Use a light hand with the markers and make it fun
Great coloring on the DSP, though I don’t think I would have the patience to do that. It does make for a lovely card. Love the butterflies.
Thanks, Julie. I love coloring – it helps me relax.
