Stampin’ Up! Amazing Birthday for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  Please be sure to visit everyone’s blog to see the great projects they are sharing with you today.  I used the new How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper and the Humming Along stamp set for today’s card.  We are working with a color challenge this week.  Here’s my card:

And here are the colors we are using:

The How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper collection has such bright and cheerful colors, it just makes me smile.  I love that the Suite has a coordinating ribbon and that the Glitter Enamel Dots from the Annual Catalog match it, too!  So easy to create without stressing over color matching.

I had fun playing with layers on today’s card.  I needed a crafting “fix” and this helped me get to my happy place.  Cardmaking helps me wind down from my day and relax.  Nothing better than a little coloring, cutting, stamping and gluing to end the day.

Adhere two panels of the How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper to a panel of Melon Mambo card stock using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Cut another 2″ strip of the DSP and use the Banner Triple Punch on one end.  Then trim to a finished length of 4-3/4″.  Adhere it to the front layer with Liquid Glue.  Cut an oval from Melon Mambo card stock with the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  Use Liquid Glue to adhere it to the front layer as well, over the banner.

Wrap a length of the Coastal Cabana/Granny Apple Green 3/8″ Reversible Ribbon across the layer and adhere the ends on the back side with tape.  Adhere the layer to a panel of Whisper White card stock, which is then adhered to the front of the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Use Coastal Cabana ink to stamp the sentiment from the Humming Along stamp set on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  Cut it out with the Lovely Label Punch and adhere it to the card front with Dimensionals.

Tie a bow from the same pretty ribbon and adhere to the card front with a couple Glue Dots.  Complete by embellishing the card front with a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels and Glitter Enamel Dots in Melon Mambo and Coastal Cabana.

Adhere a short banner of the DSP to a panel of Whisper White card stock before layering over a Melon Mambo mat and the inside of the card base with Liquid Glue.  I think I’ll hand write something like “Have a Banner Day” or “Have a Banner Year” when I send out this card – maybe it will bring a smile to their face.
