Stampin’ Up! Needle & Thread Banner for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

It’s time again for our monthly Joint Blog Hop.  Be sure to stop by to check out what all the talented bloggers in this Hop have shared.  We have a sketch challenge AND a color challenge this week and can choose to participate in either one or both – I chose to go with both challenges this time.  Here is my card :

And here is the sketch challenge and the color challenge:

The Needle & Thread stamp set has images that appear to be hand stitched.  There is a step to take that helps to keep the stamped images looking textured instead of solid.  Scrape the edge of a bone folder across the surface of the stamp pad a few times to move most of the ink deeper into the pad, then ink up your stamp.  This results in less ink on the stamp surface and a cleaner and more detailed image.

Use the Layered Leaves Embossing Folder to add texture to a panel of Whisper White card stock.  Adhere it to a panel of Mango Melody card stock with SNAIL and then adhere the layer to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Layer the Needlepoint Nook DSP banner over the strip of DSP and adhere to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Stamp the floral images from the Needle & Thread stamp set on Whisper White card stock with Flirty Flamingo and Mango Melody ink.  Use Old Olive ink to stamp the leafy branches image on Whisper White, as well.  Then cut them out with the coordinating dies from the Needlepoint Elements Framelits Dies.  Cut some leaves from Old Olive card stock with the dies, as well.  Adhere the images to the banner and card front with Liquid Glue.  The largest bloom is adhered with Dimensionals.  Finish with a triple loop bow tied with Old Olive Linen Thread adhered with a Glue Dot.

The interior is a panel of Whisper White adhered to a Mango Melody mat, which is then adhered to the card base with Liquid Glue.  Add a stamped and die cut leafy branch and flower to complete.  This happy card is sure to please whoever receives it.
