Stampin’ Up! Botanical Butterflies for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  Please be sure to visit everyone’s blog to see the great projects they are sharing with you today.  I used the new Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper (available FREE with a $50 purchase starting today!) and the Rooted in Nature stamp set for today’s card.  We are working with a great sketch challenge this week.  Here’s my card:

And here’s the sketch we are using:

The Botanical Butterfly DSP has full color botanical images on one side and black and white images on the other side.  They pair together beautifully.  Check out the full-color fussy-cut butterflies and the standout black and white paper in the background.  And it’s FREE – can’t get any better.

Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere a panel of the DSP to a Balmy Blue card stock mat before adhering to a Highland Heather card stock base.  Stamp the sentiment from the Rooted in Nature stamp set with StazOn Jet Black ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  Cut it out with a die from the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies and mat with a Balmy Blue card stock scalloped oval mat.

Use Paper Snips to fussy-cut a few butterflies from the DSP.  Lift up their wings a bit and adhere just the bodies to the sentiment panel with Glue Dots or Liquid Glue.  Take a length of Gorgeous Grape Mini Striped Ribbon and loop it a couple times behind the sentiment panel before adhering it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the inside of the card, adhere a panel of Whisper White card stock to a mat of Balmy Blue card stock before adhering to the card base with Liquid Glue.  Adhere another fussy-cut butterfly to the inside panel – beautiful!
