Stampin’ Up! Needlepoint Nook Sneak Peek for Simply Stampin’ Sunday

Welcome to Simply Stampin’ Sunday – my post of Clean And Simple projects that can be made in minutes using Stampin’ Up! products.  This week’s card features the new Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper (available for order on January 3rd) and the Floral Frames Bundle from the Annual Catalog.

The layout for my card today was inspired by CAS(E) this Sketch #302:

The new Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper features photographic images of hand-stitched embroidery with richly colored, beautifully detailed designs.

Add texture to the front of the Rich Razzleberry card base using the Subtle Embossing Folder before adhering the panels of Designer Series Paper with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Then wrap a length of Whisper White Baker’s Twine around the card base twice and tie a simple bow near the left edge.

Stamp the label image from the Floral Frames stamp set and color with a Blender pen and ink before matting it and adhering to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stamp the sentiment on the inside panel and adhere a floral image fussy-cut from the DSP as a finishing touch.  It looks like it’s hand stitched!

Here are the Simple Steps to make this card:

  1. Cut a 4-1/4″ x 11″ panel of Berry Burst card stock, score at 5-1/2″ and fold in half for card base.
  2. Use the Subtle Textured Impression Embossing Folder to add texture to the front of the card base.
  3. Cut two 1-3/4″ x 4-1/4″ panels of Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper and adhere to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  4. Cut a 1-1/8″ x 3-1/4″ panel of Needlepoint Nook DSP and adhere with Glue horizontally centered on the card front.
  5. Wrap a length of Solid Whisper White Baker’s Twine twice around the card front over the horizontal panel and tie a simple bow near the left edge.
  6. Use Mossy Meadow ink to stamp the label image from the Floral Frames stamp set on a panel of Whisper White card stock.
  7. Cut the label out with the coordinating die in the Foliage Frame Framelits Dies.
  8. Color the leaves and blooms with a Blender Pen and Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz and Rich Razzleberry inks – gently smooshing the closed ink pads and then picking up the ink from the lids with the pen.
  9. Use Berry Burst ink to stamp the sentiment from the Perennial Birthday stamp set in the center of the label.
  10. To make the mat for the die cut label, lay the label die face down on a panel of Rich Razzleberry card stock.  Use a pencil to trace around the outside edge of the die.  Use Paper Snips to cut along the pencil line.
  11. Use Glue to adhere the colored label to the hand-cut mat and adhere the completed layer to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  12. Use Berry Burst ink to stamp Happy Birthday on a 3-3/4″ x 5″ panel of Whisper White card stock.
  13. Fussy-cut a floral image from a scrap of the DSP and adhere to the panel with Glue.
  14. Adhere the panel to the inside of the card with Liquid Glue.

  1. What a pretty card! Love the designer paper that you used on the background, the subtle embossing on the card front is perfect too! 🙂

  2. Susan K says:

All the little extras–embossing, bow, coloring the frame design–added to that pretty paper make this look anything but simple, but you make it sound easy enough! Great job. I love your Sunday series.
