Stampin’ Up! Joy for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

It’s time again for our monthly Joint Blog Hop.  Be sure to stop by to check out what all the talented bloggers in this Hop have shared.  We have a sketch challenge AND a color challenge this week and can choose to participate in either one or both – I chose both!  Here is my card for this week:

And here is the color challenge and the sketch challenge:

The Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper has three warm, cozy plaid designs, stripes, woodgrains plus some great small patterns – perfect for Christmas and more.

Adhere a panel of the plaid patterned DSP to a panel of Mossy Meadow card stock with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Use the Large Letters dies to cut out the word “Joy” twice – once from Cherry Cobbler card stock and again from Mossy Meadow card stock.  Stack the letters together and use Glue to adhere with the Mossy Meadow letter peeking out from behind the Cherry Cobbler just a bit, like a shadow, to create dimension. Use Tuxedo Black Memento ink to stamp the holly image from the Peaceful Poinsettia stamp set on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  Add color with Stampin’ Blends using the Dark Old Olive and Dark Cherry Cobbler markers.

Cut out with the coordinating die.  Wrap a length of Gray Granite Textured Weave ribbon across the bottom of the prepared panel and adhere the ends to the back with tape.  Adhere the letters and holly sprays to the panel with Glue.  Cut a length of Mossy Meadow Festive Farmhouse Cotton Twine and wrap it around the Gray ribbon and tie a bow.  Then adhere the completed panel to the Cherry Cobbler card base with Dimensionals.

Adhere a strip of the DSP along the bottom edge of a panel of Whisper White card stock, which is the adhered to the inside of the card using Glue.  Add another colored die cut holly image and you’re done.  Ready for a stamped or handwritten message.
