Stampin’ Up Rooted in Nature Fall Colors for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  I used the Rooted in Nature stamp set and Nature’s Roots Framelits dies (also available as a Bundle at 10% off) to create my card for today.  I also used the coordinating Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper.  We have a color challenge this week – this is what I made:

And here is the color challenge we are using:

I’m also participating in the Sunday Stamps SSC188 Sketch Challenge this week:

To begin, use Old Olive ink with the small single leaf stamp from the Rooted in Nature stamp set to add some green leaves to the Nature’s Poem DSP panel.  Then use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the stamped panel to an Old Olive card stock mat.

Use the Subtles embossing folder to add texture to a panel of Whisper White card stock.  Use the Envelope Punch Board to round two corners on this panel and also on the Old Olive card stock mat.  Adhere the white panel to the Old Olive mat and then adhere the completed layer to the DSP layer with Liquid Glue.  Apply a strip of Tear and Tape across the panel and adhere a length of 1/4″ Copper Trim over the tape.  It’s fun to shape this mesh ribbon first.  The tape will keep it the shape you want.  Wrap the ends around to the back side and secure.  Adhere this layer to the front of a Blackberry Bliss card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Use sponge daubers with the following colors to ink the tree stamp from the Rooted in Nature set: Old Olive, Cajun Craze and Blackberry Bliss.  Use your breath to re-moisten the ink and stamp on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  Add some additional color with the daubers, if desired.  Cut the tree image out with the coordinating die from the Nature’s Roots Framelits Dies.  Adhere to the card front with Dimensionals.  Tie a bow with the 1/4″ Copper Trim.  Shape and adhere to the card front.

Adhere a strip of the stamped DSP to a panel of Whisper White card stock.  Round the corners with the Envelope Punch Board.  Adhere to a panel of Old Olive card stock after rounding the corners of it, as well.  Then adhere the layer to the inside of the card – using Liquid Glue for all.
