Stampin’ Up! Winter Woods for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  I used the Winter Woods stamp set and In The Woods Framelits dies (also available as a Bundle at 10% off) to create my card for today.  We have a sketch challenge this week – this is what I made:

And here is the sketch we are using this week:

The evergreen tree image in the Winter Woods stamp set has such awesome detail, I chose to feature it on the front of this card.  The coordinating die from In the Woods Framelits dies make cutting it out nearly effortless.  If you make multiples of a design to mail out at Christmas, this card would work well.

To begin, cut a panel of Whisper White card stock and emboss with the Softly Falling textured impressions embossing folder.  Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere it to the front of a Shaded Spruce card base.

Use Shaded Spruce ink to stamp the evergreen tree on a panel of Whisper White card stock and cut it out with the coordinating die.  Cut a 4 inch length of Striped Burlap Trim and cut a notch in the both ends.  Adhere the trim a bit above the bottom edge of the embossed panel with Liquid Glue.  Then adhere the tree to the embossed panel just above the trim.

Stamp two small branches with Shaded Spruce ink and one pine cone with Soft Suede ink on scraps of Whisper White card stock and cut with the coordinating dies.  Adhere to the top right corner of the card front with Liquid Glue.

The sentiment is stamped with Cherry Cobbler ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock and cut out with the Pretty Label punch.  Punch a second label from Cherry Cobbler card stock.  Cut it in half lengthwise and use Glue to adhere the halves to the back of the sentiment as a mat with a small reveal showing along the top and bottom edges.  Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the completed sentiment label to the card base.

Ink the tree image with Shaded Spruce ink, stamp off once and stamp a bit off the right edge on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  Adhere to the interior of the card with Glue
