Welcome to Simply Stampin’ Sunday – my weekly post of Clean And Simple projects that can be made in minutes using Stampin’ Up! products. This week’s project features the Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper from the 2018 Holiday catalog which is perfect for this fun-fold card.
The Toil & Trouble DSP has some fun Halloween and graphic images printed in bright colors. I love the little froggies frolicking and the expression on the face of the cat sitting by the cauldron – how cute is that? The Designer Series Paper is doing all the work here. Only the sentiment is stamped. Quick and easy.
The front panel of the card base is cut off at the mid-way point so the flap only covers the left half. The art piece panel is centered on the card front but adhered only to the flap.
Here’s a view of the card when it’s open, so you can see the shape of the card front.
The inside panel of card stock has a strip of the frog DSP adhered along the right edge.

Here are the Simple Steps to make this card:
- Cut a 4-1/4″ x 8-1/4″ panel of Basic Black card stock, score at 5-1/2″ and fold for the card base.
- Cut a 2-1/2″ x 4″ panel of the frog DSP and adhere to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
- Cut a 4″ x 5-1/4″ panel of Whisper White card stock for the inside liner.
- Cut a 1/2″ x 4″ strip of the frog DSP and use Liquid Glue to adhere it to the right edge of the liner.
- Adhere the liner to the inside of the card with Glue.
- Cut an image of the cat and the cauldron from the Toil & Trouble DSP to a 2-1/2″ x 3″ panel.
- Adhere the DSP art piece to a panel of 2-3/4″ x 3-1/4″ Basic Black card stock.
- Carefully apply Liquid Glue only to the portion of the art piece that will be adhered to the card front, center the panel on the card front and adhere.
- Stamp the sentiment from the Seasonal Buddies stamp set using Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a scrap of Granny Apple Green card stock.
- Use the Classic Label punch to cut out the sentiment and adhere to the card front.
- Adhere a couple of the medium sized black gems from the Faceted Dots embellishments to either side of the sentiment label to complete.
