Stampin’ Up! Abstract Impressions Thank You for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  I used the Abstract Impressions stamp set to create my card for today.  We have a color challenge this week – this is what I made:

Here are the colors that we’re using this week:

I  am also playing along in the Fab Friday #143 sketch challenge:

The Abstract Impressions stamp set is a two-step stamp, so you build your images as you stamp.  This offers many design options and opportunities.  So fun!

Stamp the sentiment from the Abstract Impressions stamp set with Melon Mambo ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  Adhere the panel to a mat of Melon Mambo card stock with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Adhere the completed layer to the Shaded Spruce card base with Liquid Glue.

Stamp the flower stems/leaves with Shaded Spruce ink.  Step 1 was stamped on a piece of scrap paper first and then on the Whisper White card stock art piece.  Step 2 of the plants was stamped full strength with Shaded Spruce ink.  Same with the flowers – the larger bloom images were stamped with Calypso Coral ink that was stamped off first and the shading was stamped with full strength Melon Mambo ink.

Once stamped, the art piece was die cut with a circle die from the Stitched Shapes die set and adhered to a scalloped circle mat die cut from Shaded Spruce card stock with a die from the Layering Circles die set.

Punch a strip of Calypso Coral card stock with the Decorative Ribbon border punch.  Trim to desired length and adhere to the card front using small dabs of Glue.  Cut a length of Shaded Spruce Metallic Ribbon and tie a knot at each end, if desired.  Adhere over the punched strip.  Add the art piece to the front – using Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere.

Use Melon Mambo Glitter Enamel Dots to embellish a few of the blooms and the front panel.

For the inside panel, stamp the floral image in the same manner as detailed for the art piece.  Adhere the stamped panel to a mat of Melon Mambo card stock and adhere the completed layer to the inside of the card with Liquid Glue.  All ready to deliver to someone special…
