Stampin’ Up! Lift Me Up Congrats for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  I used the Lift Me Up stamp set and the Up & Away Thinlits dies to create my card for today.  We have a color challenge this week and this is what I made:

Here are the colors that we’re using this week:

I have always loved the details and versatility of the Lift Me Up stamp set and coordinating Up & Away Thinlits dies and decided to use them for my card this week.  It’s easy to mix and match colors with help from the panels you adhere behind the detailed top layer.

Use Gray Granite ink to stamp a couple balloons on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  Adhere to a panel of Gray Granite card stock.  Wrap a length of Gray Granite 1/2″ Textured Weave Ribbon around the lower edge of the layer and secure the ends to the back with tape.  Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the layer to a Blueberry Bushel card base.

Die cut the large balloon from Blueberry Bushel card stock.  Cut the colored panels for the balloon from Mango Melody and Gray Granite card stock.  Apply small dabs of Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the back of the balloon and adhere the colored panels in place.

Adhere the balloon to the card front with Dimensionals.  Use Blueberry Bushel ink to stamp a few clouds on Whisper White card stock and cut them out with the coordinating dies.  Adhere the clouds to the card front with Liquid Glue, tucking the edge of one under the balloon.

Stamp the sentiment with Blueberry Bushel ink on a panel of Mango Melody card stock. Use a die from the Bunch of Banners Framelits Dies to cut the banner.  Use the same die to cut a frame for the banner from Blueberry Bushel card stock.  Adhere the banner and frame to the ribbon with Liquid Glue.

Ink the hot air balloon stamp with Gray Granite ink, stamp once on a scrap and then again on a panel of Whisper White card stock for the card interior.  Ink the sentiment with Blueberry Bushel ink and stamp across the balloon image.  Adhere the stamped panel to a Gray Granite card stock mat and then adhere the layer to the card interior with Liquid Glue.  It’s ready to go now – up, up & away!

  1. Nicely done. I really like the way you did the balloons in gray to make them “distant”

  2. When deciding what to do for today, I considered Lift Me Up. You did it VERY well. Nice use of the color challenge. Someone will be happy to get this card.
