Stampin’ Up! Just Breathe for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop

Welcome back to another Inkin’ Krew team blog hop!  Our very talented team is doing a blog hop featuring Stampin’ Up! products.  Our theme this month is “Celebrate Summer”.  My framed art piece features the Colorful Seasons stamp set, High Tide stamp set and Sea of Textures stamp set and coordinating Under the Sea Framelits.  Here is what I created:

Our family just spent last week at the beach – time together that I look forward to every year.  Definitely a great way to celebrate summer!  I was inspired by a number of similar framed collages and combined some ideas to make this one my own.

I purchased a 5″ x 7″ frame at a local discount store and designed the components to fit the frame.  Begin with a panel of Pool Party card stock for the base piece.  Add a panel of Soft Sea Foam card stock.  Then begin building the separate pieces.  Stamp the sentiment from the Colorful Seasons stamp set in Pool Party ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere it to a Soft Suede card stock mat.

Using the Under the Sea framelits die set, cut the following pieces: the small sand dollar from Whisper White card stock, the large sand dollar and the coral from Pool Party card stock, the small sand dollar and the sea grass from Soft Sea Foam card stock.  Use a sponge dauber to add some Crumb Cake ink to the small white sand dollar for dimension and detail.  Adhere the white sand dollar and just the star centers in Soft Sea Foam and Pool Party to a panel of Soft Suede card stock.  Stamp the sea weed from the Sea of Textures stamp set with Soft Sea Foam ink multiple times on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  Add the die cut sea grass and coral using dabs of glue and then adhere the piece to a panel of Soft Suede card stock.

The final component is a scene made with numerous stamps.  I used my Stamparatus (such a great tool!) to stamp the chair from the Colorful Seasons stamp set on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  First stamp the frame in Soft Suede ink, then add the canvas sling with Pool Party ink.  Then I used stamps from the High Tide stamp set.  I stamped the sand multiple times in Crumb Cake ink, stamping off each time first.  The sea grass is stamped in Soft Sea Foam ink.  I masked off the larger birds and inked the smaller three birds with Crumb Cake ink.  Then I used a Pool Party Stampin’ Write marker to draw in the water.  I followed the design of the water stamp in the set.  This piece is adhered to a panel of Pool Party card stock.

The final step is to adhere the completed pieces to the base.  Dry-fit all four pieces first to determine the final placement and then adhere with Liquid Glue.  Insert into the frame.  This will bring a smile to my face each time I see it – I hope you enjoy it, too.

I love things like this , and I get to make it myself, even better. I have a granddaughter, her and her husband moved down here and they just bought a house. She can’t find anything like this tat she wants to decorate with! So, guess what she’s getting for Christmas? I’ll change the colors for her house, so I may contact you and ask for help? She loves grays and navy blues. But, Thank YOU so much for with us!
