Stampin’ Up! Tropical Pop of Petals for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

I used the Pop of Petals Bundle and the Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper to create my card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop today.  We have a color challenge this week and this is what I made for it:

Here are the colors we are using:

The Pop of Petals stamp set and coordinating Four-Petal Flower Punch was definitely on my short list as I went through the catalog.  There are five flower variations and a butterfly that work with the punch.  Plus some additional images of flowers and leaves.  Fun!  And so many options!

To begin, I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere a panel of Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper to the front of my Granny Apple Green card base.  Adhere a smaller panel of the DSP to a panel of Shaded Spruce card stock.  Wrap a length of Silver and Petal Pink Baker’s Twine around the panel three times and secure the ends on the back with tape.  Stamp the floral image with the six petal mini flower in the center on a panel of Whisper White card stock with Blushing Bride ink – two full flowers to be punched out and four images to fussy-cut the small flower from the centers.

Stamp the leaf image three times on Whisper White card stock with Shaded Spruce ink and fussy-cut with Paper Snips.  Shape the flower petals and leaves to add some dimension.  Layer the two full flower images and one of the fussy-cut small ones and adhere with a small amount of Liquid Glue in the centers.  Use a Stampin’ Dimensional to adhere the flower to the art panel.  Apply Liquid Glue to the base of the leaves and slip them into place under the flower.  Use Dimensionals to adhere the art panel to the card front.  Tie a triple-loop bow and adhere over the wrapped twine with a Mini Glue Dot.  Add three more small fussy-cut flowers to the card front. Add a Clear Rhinestone to the center of each of the small flowers to complete.

The inside liner of the card is a Whisper White panel with a strip of DSP adhered along the lower edge with Liquid Glue.  Stamp two flower images with Blushing Bride ink on Whisper White card stock, punch them out, layer them and adhere in the upper left corner with Glue.  Then adhere the panel to the inside of the card.  It’s ready for your hand-written note for whatever occasion may arise.
