Stampin’ Up! With Sympathy for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

I used the Flourishing Phrases stamp set and a sneak of the new Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper from the 2018-19 Annual Catalog to create my card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop today.  We have a sketch challenge this week and this is what I made for it:

Here is the sketch that we’re using this week:

The new Garden Impressions 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper stack is just gorgeous, I promise it won’t disappoint.  I only used a little square of it on this card, and yet it draws you right in and holds it’s own.

The first step in making this card it to emboss a panel of Smoky Slate card stock with the Petal Burst embossing folder.  Adhere the embossed panel to the Night of Navy card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Cut a square panel of the Garden Impressions DSP, and another slightly larger square of Night of Navy card stock.  Adhere the DSP panel to the card stock mat with Liquid Glue.  Adhere the completed layer to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set, inked in Night of Navy ink and stamped on a panel of So Saffron card stock.  Use the banner die from the Lakeside Framelits Die set to cut out the sentiment.  Adhere the sentiment banner to the square layer with Liquid Glue and add a Dimensional under the right end to adhere it to the card front.  Use Glue Dots to adhere a set of silver leaves from the Leaves Trinkets embellishments to the left end of the banner.  Add a small bow tied with Night of Navy Medium Baker’s Twine, adhered with a Glue Dot.  A single silver leaf from the same set is added to the lower right card front with a couple of rolled glue dots.

Stamp a verse from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set with Night of Navy ink on the Smoky Slate panel for the card interior.  Then adhere to the inside of the card with Liquid Glue.
