Stampin’ Up! Climbing Orchid Bloom for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

I used the Climbing Orchid and Perennial Birthday stamps sets to create my card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop today.  We have a color challenge this week and this is what I made for it:

Here are the colors that we’re using this week:

I love using Black as a neutral; it provides a great contrast between the background and focal point.  I used Basic Black card stock as the base for this card.  Adhere a panel of Lemon Lime Twist card stock to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Use Liquid Glue to adhere a panel of the geometric design black and white DSP from the Pick A Pattern Designer Series Paper pack (available while supplies last – retiring May 31st) to a panel of Berry Burst card stock.  Use Basic Black Archival ink to stamp the sentiment from Perennial Birthday to a strip of Berry Burst card stock.  Adhere the sentiment strip to the layered panel 3/4″ up from the bottom edge using Liquid Glue.

Then stamp the smaller two orchid images from the Climbing Orchid Stamp set with Berry Burst ink two times on Whisper White cardstock.  Die cut the orchid images with the coordinating Orchid Builder Framelits.  Use Lemon Lime Twist ink to stamp three of the large leaves and three of the small leaves on Lemon Lime Twist card stock.  Die cut the leaf images with the coordinating Orchid Builder Framelits.  Use a stylus or bone folder to shape the blooms and leaves to add dimension.  Stack one of each of the bloom images and adhere with Liquid Glue.  Use a Stampin’ Dimensional to adhere to the card front.  Adhere three of the large leaves under the edge of the bloom with Liquid Glue.  Add a Glitter Enamel Dot the the center of the bloom to complete.

Stamp the sentiment from the Perennial Birthday stamp set in Basic Black Archival ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  Adhere the card liner to a Berry Burst card stock mat and then to the card interior with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Assemble the layers of the bloom and the small leaves and adhere all to the card interior with Liquid Glue.  Use a single-hole punch to stamp a small circle from Berry Burst card stock.  Adhere the punched circle to the flower center with Glue.
