Stampin’ Up! Birthday Blooms for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

I used the Birthday Blooms stamp set to create my card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop today.  We have a color challenge this week and this is what I made for it:

Here are the colors that we’re using this week:

I just love the papers in the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper pack, but have to admit the white-washed wood design is my favorite.  The rustic look is the perfect background for the painted bloom from the Birthday Blooms stamp set.  The sentiment from the Birthday Blooms stamp set is stamped in Basic Gray Archival ink on the wood grain paper in the lower right corner.  I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the panel of wood grain paper to a panel of Crumb Cake card stock.  Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere the layer to the front of the Marina Mist card base.

The large floral image from the Birthday Blooms set is stamped on Shimmery White card stock with Basic Gray Archival ink.  Then I colored it using an aqua painter and blender pen with Marina Mist and Old Olive ink.  After the bloom was colored I fussy-cut it with Paper Snips and adhered it to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and Mini Dimensionals.  Linen Thread is wrapped around the card front three times and tied in a knot to secure.  Then the ends are curled with the paper snips.  The card front is embellished with some blue Glitter Enamel Dots and Old Olive Enamel Shapes.

I inked the single floral image from the Birthday Blooms stamp set with Basic Gray Archival ink and stamped it on scrap paper once before stamping it on a panel of Whisper White card stock for the card interior.  The stamped panel is adhered to a Crumb Cake mat and the layer is adhered to the inside of the card, ready for a hand written sentiment.
