Stampin’ Up! Swirly Spring Wreath for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

I used the Swirly Bird and Jar of Love stamp sets and coordinating dies to create my card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop today.  We have a sketch challenge this week and this is what I made for it:

Here is the sketch that we’re using this week:

I combined Flirty Flamingo and Lemon Lime Twist with some pretty blues – Pool Party and Marina Mist to “build” a Spring wreath on my card today.   To begin, I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere a panel of Coffee Break Designer Series Paper to an Early Espresso card stock mat.  Then I cut a strip of Very Vanilla card stock, stamped it with the sentiment from the Jar of Love stamp set with Flirty Flamingo ink and clipped one end to make a banner.  I shaped it a bit with my fingers before adhering it to the art layer with Liquid Glue.

I stamped the small flower from the Jar of Love stamp set in Flirty Flamingo ink multiple times on Very Vanilla card stock and Flirty Flamingo card stock and cut them out with the coordinating die from the Everyday Jars Framelits Dies.  I stamped the veins for the small leaf from the Swirly Bird stamp set multiple times in Lemon Lime Twist ink on Lemon Lime Twist card stock and used the small leaf die from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies to cut them out.  Then I stamped the bird from the Swirly Bird stamp set on Very Vanilla card stock with Marina Mist ink and used my Paper Snips to fussy cut it out.

The wreath is cut from Wood Textures Designer Series Paper with the mid-size swirl from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies.  I then trimmed a bit out of the center of the swirl.  The flowers and leaves are shaped a bit using a stylus on a Stampin’ Pierce Mat.  All the pieces are adhered in place using Liquid Glue, except the bird, which is adhered with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I tied a triple loop bow with Flirty Flamingo Baker’s Twine and adhered it with a Mini Glue Dot.  Pearl Basic Jewels add the finishing touch.  The art panel is adhered to the front of the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The inside panel of Very Vanilla card stock is adhered to an Early Espresso mat and then to the card interior with Liquid Glue.  I added three more leaves and a flower in the bottom left corner.
