I used the Touches of Texture stamp set to create my card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop today. We’ve got a color challenge this week and this is what I made for it:
Here are the colors that we’re using this week:
I chose a panel of Designer Series Paper from the Petal Garden Stack and adhered it to a Soft Suede card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Then I embossed a panel of Whisper White card stock with one of the Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing Folders and used Liquid Glue to adhere it horizontally across the card front. I used a die from the Petals & More Thinlits Die set to cut the branch from Garden Green card stock and cut it into smaller pieces, which I adhered on either side of the embossed panel so they would be tucked under the completed art piece.
For the art piece, I stamped the sweet floral branch from the Touches of Texture stamp set on a panel of Whisper White Thick card stock with Basic Black Archival ink. Then I used a blender pen to color the blooms with Pool Party ink and colored the leaves with Garden Green ink. I added a touch of Soft Suede to the center of each of the open blooms. I used the next to largest plain oval die from the Layering Oval Framelits Die set to cut the image out. Then I stamped the same floral image again and colored only the open blooms in the same manner and fussy cut them using my Paper Snips. I curled the petals upward slightly using just my fingers to add dimension. Then I adhered them over the top of each bloom with Liquid Glue only under the centers, and rotated them slightly rather than aligning them with the bloom below. I used Liquid Glue to adhere the oval art piece to a Soft Suede mat cut with the largest scalloped oval die from the Layering Ovals Framelits Die set. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the art piece to the card front. Then I stamped the bumble bee image in Basic Black Archival ink and fussy cut it. I used a blender pen to color the body with Soft Suede ink and the wings with Pool Party ink, then adhered it to the art piece with Liquid Glue. To finish the front, I added a bow tied with Linen Thread, which I adhered to the art piece with a Mini Glue Dot. And I added a couple Pearls Basic Jewels and some Rhinestone Basic Jewels as accents.
I stamped the floral branch and the bee on a panel of Whisper White card stock with Pool Party ink, which I stamped off once first. Then I adhered the stamped panel to the inside of the card with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
