Stampin’ Up! Lots of Happy Kit Alternate for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

I used an image from the Lots of Happy Card Kit to create my card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop today.  We have a sketch challenge this week and this is what I made for it:

Here is the sketch that we’re using this week:

The Lots of Happy Card Kit has everything you need to make 20 cards – 4 each of 5 designs.  It even includes some watercolor pencils.  I decided to color this lavender image from the kit with Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers and use it on a standard size card.  I just love how it turned out.  I colored the flowers with Light and Dark Pink Pirouette Blends and colored the leaves with Light and Dark Old Olive Blends.

I embossed a panel of Pink Pirouette card stock with the Simple Stripes embossing folder and adhered it to the Basic Black card stock card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Then I embossed a panel of Old Olive card stock using one of the Petal Pair embossing folders.  I cut the 5/8″ deep notch for the banner end with paper snips and adhered it to a Basic Black card stock mat.  I trimmed the banner end on the mat and then adhered the completed banner to the card base with Liquid Glue.  Next I embossed a panel of Whisper White card stock with the Petal Burst embossing folder and adhered it to a Basic Black card stock mat with Liquid Glue.  I wrapped Linen Thread around this layer three times and secured the ends on the back side with tape.  This layer is adhered to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The colored floral image is slipped under the linen thread and adhered to the white layer with Liquid Glue.  I stamped the butterfly from the Flying Home stamp set twice using Memento Ink on Thick Whisper White card stock and colored them with the Pink Pirouette and Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.  Then I fussy-cut the butterflies using my Paper Snips and used Liquid Glue to adhere them to the art piece.  To complete the card front, I tied a bow with the Linen Thread and adhered it at the base of the flowers with a Mini Glue Dot.

I colored the second lavender image in the same manner as the first and used it inside the card.  A panel of Whisper White card stock is adhered to a Pink Pirouette mat which is then adhered to the inside of the card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Then the flower image is adhered along the lower right side using Liquid Glue to complete.

I left the inside blank, but I think this would work for a Mother’s Day, Birthday, Thank You and even a Wedding card.
