Stampin’ Up! Sweet Soirée Wedding Cake Card

The Sweet Soirée Suite is definitely one of my favorites in the Occasions catalog.  The silver foil accents on the Specialty Designer Series Paper add a textured look to the designs which makes them both fun and elegant, and oh so pretty.

My card layout today is based on Freshly Made Sketches 324

To begin, emboss a panel of Whisper White card stock with the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Adhere the embossed panel to a panel of Powder Pink card stock with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere this layer to the front of the Whisper White Thick card stock base.

Next I used a die from the Layering Circles Framelits Die set to cut out a pretty cake from one of the sheets in the Sweet Soirée Specialty Designer Series Paper stack.  I cut a scalloped circle just slightly larger than the DSP piece from a Silver Foil Sheet and glued them together with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I covered the back of the Foil circle with SNAIL and used it to adhere loops of Silver Metallic Thread until I had the look I wanted.

Next I used the Light Old Olive and Dark Old Olive Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers to color the leaves on a couple of foiled vellum branches from the Sweet Soirée Embellishment Kit.  I cut two strips for banners – one in Powder Pink card stock and one in Old Olive card stock, and used my Paper Snips to notch one end of each strip.  Once I determined the desired placement, I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the Powder Pink and Old Olive banners to the Whisper White layer, and then added the colored branches.  The circle art piece is adhered to the card front over the banners and branches with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used a verse from the Special Celebrations stamp set for the card interior, stamped with Flirty Flamingo ink on Whisper White card stock .  The small floral image is fussy cut from the same “cake” sheet of DSP and adhered to the interior panel with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  The white panel is adhered to a panel of Powder Pink card stock with Liquid Glue, and the completed layer is the adhered to the interior card base, again with Liquid Glue.

What a beautiful card. Every single element is beautiful and all work together for a lovely card. I just love that you did the inside too. So often we do not get to see the inside of cards. Thanks for the inspiration, and for sharing.
