Stampin’ Up! Hello Floral Statements

Hello, hello!  I just love the simplicity of this stamp set – sentiment and image all in one.  You can chose to color or not, and it’s still beautiful.

The image is stamped with Basic Black Archival Stampin’ Ink on a panel of Crumb Cake cardstock.  Watercolor Pencils added just the right amount of color I was after.  No water added, just colored the images.  The white shows up well and a light touch of pink added a bit of depth, don’t you think?  Colors used – Whisper White and Melon Mambo for the flower petals, Daffodil Delight for the flower centers and Old Olive for the leaves.  They look like native wild roses.  Love how easy it was to get this look!

Hint: after coloring the flowers, I wanted the black to be bolder, so I used the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker brush tip to go over the stamped lettering and the writing tip to go over the image outlines.

The mat is a panel of Basic Black cardstock cut the same size as the art piece and adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue offset a bit, as shown.   Solid Baker’s Twine in Basic Black is wrapped around the panel three times and secured on the back with tape.  Then the panel is adhered to the card front with Fast Fuse.  To finish, a triple looped bow is adhered to the card front with a glue dot.
