Stampin’ Up! Lift Me Up for the 2017 Autism Matters Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin’ Up! 2017 Autism Matters Blog Hop.

As you go through the hop, each of us will be sharing a fact about autism with you.

Many children with autism have a reduced sensitivity to pain but may be extra sensitive to sound, touch, or other sensory stimulation—which may contribute to a reluctance to being cuddled or hugged.

Today is World Autism Awareness Day.  I chose the colors from this symbol to use with the Lift Me Up bundle to create my card for the blog hop today.

Please consider making a donation to Autism Speaks by clicking here:

Thank you!  Every dollar counts!

Card Details:

I sponged the clouds in Pacific Point ink on the Whisper White panel using the largest die cut cloud as a mask. Then I inked the three smallest birds from the High Tide stamp set in Pacific Point and stamped them in the upper left corner of the panel.  I used Multipurpose Liquid glue to adhere this panel to the red panel.  After wrapping the layered panel with Night of Navy solid baker’s twine as shown, I adhered it to the Pacific Point card base using Dimensionals.

The large detailed balloon is die cut from Night of Navy card stock and the color bands behind it are die cut from Real Red and Daffodil Delight.  After adhering the color bands to the back of the detailed die cut with Multipurpose Liquid glue, the Hot Air Balloon is adhered to the card front using Dimensionals.

The sentiment is stamped in Pacific Point ink on Whisper White card stock, trimmed close and adhered with glue and Dimensionals.  I embellished with a triple looped bow and some Enamel Shapes in Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight.

Card Stock Cuts:

  • Pacific Point – 4-1/4″ x 11″ panel scored at 5-1/2″ for card base
  • Real Red – 5-1/8″ x 3-7/8″ panel,  3″ x 4″ panel for die cuts

  • Whisper White – 5″ x 3-3/4″ panel for art piece,  1″ x 1-1/2″ panel or scrap for cloud die cut, 3″ long strip for sentiment
